After a chance meeting on the Acid Jazz label they shared (Jay was with seminal hammond funk combo James Taylor Quartet, and Adil was one half of Goldbug, who had a UK top hit with a cover and mash-up of Zed Zeppelins ‘Whole Lotta Love), they started out producing and DJ’ing the music for fashion shows in London, Milan and New York - mixing up everything from Rock to Hip-Hop, Electro to Nu Disco and Breakbeat. It is these eclectic influences and their sense of musical mischief, that is the template for the sound of ‘A Cowboy And Indian’. Their debut remix in late 2007 of Kula Shakers ‘Narayana’ first bought them to the public’s attention. Other work has included remixes for Belgian based Freaksville Records (including Jacques Duvall and Coralie Clements ‘Comme Par Désenchantement’), and cult electro rockers Phantôm. They have also co-written and produced the debut album for Congalese band Le Dragon Noir, which will be released in early 2012.
